Pope Francis To Visit U.S. In 2015

    Pope Francis is coming to America.

    FOX News Radio’s Simon Owen reports from the European bureau.

    The Pope confirming he plans to travel to Philadelphia next September to attend a conference on family values, after being invited by the Archbishop of Philadelphia Charles Chaput. 

    (Chaput) “When the Holy Father announced at the meeting inside that he was coming to Philadelphia, the people who were gathered around him applauded, but I applauded the loudest, because we’re very, very grateful for this opportunity.”

    The Pope is also being tipped to visit the White House and the United Nations.

    It’s six years since the U.S. last hosted a reigning Pope. Francis’s predecessor Benedict XVI celebrating Mass in New York and Washington in 2008.
