Lowe’s Testing Customer Service Robots
Lowe’s experimenting with a new method of customer service… and it’s right out of a science fiction movie.
FOX News Radio’s Lisa Lacerra reports:
Sometimes you need a little help finding something at the hardware store. Lowe’s trying a new approach…
(Robot) “Hello, I am OSHbot — The Orchard store robot helper. What are you looking for today?”
They look like white columns with two large black screens and have wheels. They’re being tested at a small hardware store owned by Lowe’s in San Jose, California and have cameras so they can scan and identify items.
(Robot) “Can you place the object in my viewfinder? Is this the object you are looking for?”
Then the robot can lead the customer to the proper aisle to find what they need.
