Kira Kazantsev crowned Miss America at the pageant in Atlantic City.
For her talent portion, Kazantsev sang “Happy,” by Pharrell Williams, while banging a red plastic cup on the floor.
The 22-year-old made ending domestic violence her platform issue and plans to raise awareness during her year-long reign.
Kazantsev also won a 50-thousand dollar scholarship and will use it to attend law school.
