FOX In The Fast Lane: NASCAR Accelerates To Atlanta Motor Speedway
It’s Labor Day weekend and race fans will be spending it at Atlanta Motor Speedway for Sunday’s cup race, The Oral-B USA 500. NASCAR makes changes to the 2015 schedule and Tony Stewart returns to racing.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup goes to the Atlanta Motor Speedway this weekend. Penske Racing’s Joey Logano has never won there, scoring only one top five and one top ten finish. But, for him the mile and a half track is…
(Logano) “A place where we were very, very fast. Probably the best race car I ever had was last year at Atlanta.”
Logano’s teammate Brad Keselowski says they can start thinking ahead about making a run for the championship, because…
(Keselowski) “Joey and I both have three wins. We’re entering the chase strong in a lot of different ways.”
NASCAR rolls out the 2015 race schedule and swaps Atlanta and Darlington’s dates.
I asked track president Ed Clark about the change from August to now, a March date:
(Clark) “We like the move, we think it will be a positive move for us and so far fan response has been great.”
And, Tony Stewart announces he will race this weekend at Atlanta, his first race since the fatal crash that killed sprint car driver Kevin Ward Junior.
