Legendary television announcer Don Pardo has died.
FOX News Radio's Steve Rappoport reports:
(Pardo) "It's Saturday Night Live."
Don Pardo's voice was unmistakable, kicking off nearly every episode of SNL, through the end of last season.
Pardo's baritone delivery resonated on TV and radio for more than 60 years as an announcer...
(Pardo) "President Kennedy was shot today just as his motorcade left downtown Dallas."
A pitch man.
(Pardo) "Atari introduces the Woman of the Year, Ms. PAC-MAN."
And on game shows...
(Pardo) "And now, here's the star of Jeopardy! Art Fleming."
Pardo's career began in 1942 at a radio station in Providence, Rhode Island. His big break came two years later, when an NBC supervisor heard Pardo's voice and hired him on the spot.
Don Pardo was 96 years old.
