Barack Obama, Rick Perry

President Obama didn't travel to the border, as some wanted, but he did meet in Texas with Republican Governor Rick Perry.

FOX News Radio's Jared Halpern reports from Fort Worth, Texas:

Barack Obama

A first hand visit to the border is not what President Obama says he needs to have an intimate knowledge of the crisis...

(President Obama) "I'm not interested in photo ops, I'm interested in solving a problem."

The President meeting at Dallas Love Field with Texas Governor Rick Perry, who not only says a border visit is necessary, but says the President should surge the border with hundreds of National Guard troops.

(Governor Perry) "It's amazing what happens when you surge in, when you show that force, if you will."

President Obama is asking Congress to quickly pass a near $4 billion spending bill to speed up the process of sending most of the kids illegally crossing the border back home.
