Republican Jeff Miller chaired Wednesday night’s House hearing probing the VA hospital scandal.

On the heels of scathing report from an Inspector General finding inappropriate scheduling practices throughout the VA health system, executives faced a combative House panel.

(Lynch) “We have to re-establish credibility in VA. This is critical.”

Doctor Thomas Lynch, a deputy VA Secretary dismisses allegations however, of secret waiting lists, saying canceled appointments were part of an effort to improve efficiency.

The IG warns 1,700 patients of a Phoenix clinic remain at risk of becoming lost in convoluted scheduling schemes.

Several Democrats now joining calls for VA Secretary Eric Shinseki to resign.
