In the San Diego area, firefighters keep battling wildfires that have evacuated thousands of people.

FOX News Radio's Jessica Rosenthal reports from San Marcos, California:

A plume of black smoke is still rising up off the mountain here - a few structures did burn in this fire here in San Marcos - but fire crews were dealing with nine fires which forced thousands to evacuate.

resident: "It's amazing. I mean last night that whole all over the ridges were ablaze for that few houses it's really remarkable I think."

County Supervisor Diane Jacob says, it'll be very hot again.

Jacob: "It's expected we will face Santa Ana wind condition, so everyone in the region needs to be on high alert."

Some residents say nine fires in one day is suspicious, but investigators have not yet determined the causes.
