NASCAR drivers will be racing at Kansas Speedway Saturday night for this year’s running of the 5-Hour Energy 400. Bobby LaBonte celebrates a big birthday and Kasey Kahne’s crew chief finds himself in trouble after Talladega.

FOX News Radio’s Marghiee Teshineh has this week’s race preview:

The Sprint Cup races under the lights this weekend at Kansas Speedway and for driver Denny Hamlinthis season has not been without its frustrations:

Hamlin: “When you run great for 480 miles and you blow it all away in the last 20 and so I was responsible for some of that.”

But now Hamlin, after a win last week at Talladega can relax because–

Hamlin: “We don’t have to hit the panic button at this point. Now we can just focus on working on our program.”

Happy Birthday this week to Bobby LaBonte who turns 50. I asked him how he plans to celebrate the big day:

LaBonte: “I’m going to try to be out of town so nobody will know about it or forget about it when it happens.”

And Kasey Kahne’s crew chief, Kenny Francis has been fined $25,000 dollars for rules violations during qualifying for the Sprint Cup race last week at Talladega. Kahne’s car failed the minimum weight requirement — forcing it to start in the back of the field.
