Utah Federal Courthouse Shooting
Police in Salt Lake City responded to reports of a shooting at a Federal courthouse Monday during the start of a trial for an alleged gang member.
FOX News Radio’s Jessica Rosenthal reports:
A defendant in a Federal trial was shot and injured inside a courtroom in Salt Lake City.
Dressen: “The defendant may have grabbed a pen or pencil and charged the witness stand.”
Mark Dressen with the Utah FBI says that’s when a U.S. Marshal shot him. The defendant, allegedly tied to a gang, is on trial, suspected of shooting two marshals about seven years ago. Recently, other members of the same gang had been put on trial after many of them were charged with racketeering, robberies and shootings.

Update: The defendant later died from his injuries.
