School Pays Up! Teen Wins Settlement Over Facebook Password
A Minnesota school district settles with a student for snooping on her online conversations.
Fox News Radio’s Chris Foster reports:
A 70,000 dollar settlement between the Minnewaska Minnesota School District, the American Civil Liberties Union and Riley Stratton.
In sixth grade– two years ago, she was called in by school administrators, with a Sheriff’s deputy there and told to hand over her Facebook and e-mail passwords. Another parent had complained about a conversation and Riley ended up getting detention for something she wrote about a teacher’s aide. Now, parents have to give written consent for their kids’ passwords to be shared.
