President Obama was at the Vatican Thursday for a meeting with the Pope.

For the first time, a handshake between Pope Francis and President Obama.

(President Obama) “Thank you so much for receiving me. It’s a great honor.”

This is the second visit to the Vatican for President Obama, who also had an audience with Pope Benedict in 2009.

In an interview with a local paper here in Italy, President Obama talked of a shared vision with His Holiness on fighting poverty and income inequality.

Here in Rome, the President also has sit downs with Italy’s President and Prime Minister.
