A TV news helicopter crashed in Seattle, Washington, hitting several cars below and killing two people.

FOX News Radio’s Jessica Rosenthal reports:

Two people inside the KOMO-TV news helicopter were killed when it crashed near the Space Needle this morning .

(Witness) “I heard the engine turn on and then 15 seconds later I heard a boom, and the engine sounded a little bit heavy so I heard the boom and I looked up and two seconds later the flames started spreading out from the base of the helicopter.”

The chopper hit several cars below and some of them caught fire. One man was critically injured. Officials at the TV station say the helicopter was taking off from the rooftop and may have hit the side of the building when it went down.
