Judge Rules Against NJ Teen Suing Parents For Financial Support [VIDEO]
A New Jersey family court judge ruling against a teen who sued her parents for financial support.

Tanya Helfand represents 18-year-old Rachel Canning. The high school senior hasn’t lived at home since October, claiming her parents kicked her out. They say Rachel left voluntarily because she didn’t want to follow their rules. The parents lawyer Laurie Rush-Masuret…
(Rush-Masuret) “It’s my clients position that she is an emancipated minor. She’s actually an emancipated adult.”
The teen sued to get her parents to pay her expenses along with private school and college tuition. The judge sided with them on the high school tuition, also denying the teen’s request for legal fees. A ruling on the college tuition at a hearing next month.
