Fake Bar Set Up In London To Study Drinkers

    Drinking

A fake bar has been set up in London in a unique experiment to test people’s decision making after drinking alcohol.

FOX News Radio’s Emily Wither reports:

    (Bar sounds)

This bar in London may at first appear normal, but it’s all in the name of science. Using students as real-life guinea pigs they’ll be able to drink for free while their behavior is monitored through hidden CCTV cameras. But while the bar seems genuine not all drinks will be alcoholic:

(Moss) “We know from decades of research that one of the biggest predictors of change of behavior once a person’s drinking is actually the beliefs and expectations that person has about the effects of alcohol on their behavior.”

Dr. Tony Moss head of Psychology at London South Bank University uses bar games as an example, explaining that people are more likely to take risks while playing after a few drinks.

Perhaps unsurprisingly there’s no shortage of volunteers.
