At last for race fans — the Daytona 500. Rookie driver Austin Dillon will be leading the pack at Daytona, a fan favorite is hoping to grab the checkered flag, Joey Logano causes a wreck and ‘Captain America’ makes a special appearance at the Great American Race.
FOX News Radio’s Marghiee Teshineh reports in this week’s “FOX in the Fast Lane”:
FOX in the Fast Lane.
Austin Dillon is making a big splash his rookie season in the Sprint Cup, snagging the pole position for this Sunday’s Daytona 500. Dillon hopes that…
(Dillon) “Starting the year off with a pole right here it brings some momentum into our season already to show that our RCR cars have speed.”
Dale Earnhardt Jr. thinks this could be the year he finally wins at Daytona because…
(Earnhardt Jr.) “We feel like we brought a great car to the 500, it’s going to be competitive.”
Joey Logano taking the blame for a multi-car crash during one of the practice runs this week at Daytona that sent one car airborne sliding across the infield. The accident happened after Logano made contact Matt Kenseth. Logano, Paul Menard and Ryan Truex among the drivers who suffered extensive damage to their cars, but luckily no one was hurt.
And actor Chris Evans, who plays superhero ‘Captain America’ will serve as this year’s grand marshal at Daytona.
