An al-Qaeda plot to attack the U.S. embassy in Tel Aviv has been caught by Israel's intelligence agency.

Fox News Radio's Emily Wither has this update from Jerusalem:

Three Palestinians have been arrested for plotting to carrying out attacks on two targets here in Israel-- the big conference center in Jerusalem and the U.S. embassy in Tel Aviv. The men were recruited by an al-Qaeda operative in Gaza - with direct links to the groups leader Ayman al-Zawahri. Senior researcher for the Institute for National Security Studies Yoram Schweitzer says what's interesting is the plot had connections to Syria:

"They were operating and tried to recruit in addition to the local people, also people from Syria that belonged to al-Qaeda. And all of them intended to operate in Israel."

Israel's security agency also saying five men were planning to fly to here with fake Russian passports to help.
