Ohio Executes Inmate With New Drug Mix
A killer put to death in Ohio, using a never-before tried lethal injection combo.
FOX News Radio’s Jennifer Keiper reports:
Dennis McGuire appeared to gasp for air several times, after being given a new sedative-painkiller mix. The state had to switch from pentobarbital because the company that makes it, no longer sells it for executions. McGuire’s lawyers tried to stop the execution this week- arguing that the combo would cause him to suffer air hunger, making it hard for him to breathe. He killed a pregnant newlywed in 1989, in West Alexandria, Ohio.
It’s been the talk of that small town:
Town resident: “I definitely support the death penalty in certain instances and I believe this is one of them.”
McGuire refused a shower and breakfast and had emotional final visits with his son and daughter.
