Obama Administration Tackles Classroom Discipline
The Obama administration is weighing in on discipline in school.
FOX News Radio’s Eben Brown reports:
The Obama administration is issuing new recommendations on classroom discipline that it says will seek to end disparities in how students of different ethnic backgrounds are punished when breaking the rules at school. A government study suggests African-American students are more than three times likely as white students to be suspended or expelled or wind up in trouble with the law. And that so-called ‘zero tolerance’ policies are to blame as school officials are too quick to call 911 on an unruly student.
