A new report from the Centers for Disease Control says flu vaccinations work… if we get them.

FOX News Radio’s Tonya J. Powers reports:

Rolling up our sleeves can help keep us healthier.

CDC Director Dr. Tom Frieden says last year, the flu vaccine kept many of us from getting sick.

(Dr. Frieden) “Flu vaccination prevented at least 6.6 million people from getting sick with the flu, 3.2 million people from going to see a doctor or other healthcare professional, and at least 79,000 hospitalizations.”

The report also says 40% of Americans six months and older got the flu vaccine this year.

Three children have died from the flu this year, according to the CDC. Kids and seniors are the most vulnerable to the illness.
