Awards season got into full swing Thursday morning with the announcement of the Golden Globe nominations. The 71st annual Golden Globe Awards, which honor both film and television, will be hosted by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey on January 12, 2014.

FOX News Radio's Sabrina Sabbagh reports from Los Angeles:

The Globes always set the trend for the other award shows and if this morning was any indication, it's going to be a big award season for "12 Years a Slave" and "American Hustle".

(American Hustle) "Also always take a favor over money."

Both films are up for seven awards.

Alexander Payne's father-son road trip "Nebraska," has five nominations, including Best Actor for Bruce Dern.

"Gravity" earned four nominations, as did "Captain Phillips".

In the television categories... "Breaking Bad", "Downton Abbey", "The Good Wife", "House of Cards" and "Masters of Sex" are competing for Best Drama.
