“The 12 Days Of Christmas” Items Top $100,000
If you were thinking of getting your loved ones a few french hens or some turtle doves this Christmas, get ready to dig deep. The cost of the items mentioned in the song is now more than six figures.
FOX New Radio’s Bill Vitka reports:
(music) To the list of Christmas gifts that cost more than they did a year ago– add lords-a-leaping and ladies dancing. They’re part of the checklist of items from the carol “The 12 Days of Christmas.” Ten lords-a-leaping,is 10% more than a year ago. And the nine ladies dancing, 20% more. Most everything else is pretty much the same– not that it’s cheap. To buy one set of the gifts in the song would run you more than $27,000– a more than 7% spike over a year ago. To buy the whole megilla– all 364 items, the bill is $114,000 — 6.9% more than a year ago.
