FL Man Found Guilty In NFL Player’s Death
A Florida jury says the young man accused of shooting Washington Redskins player Sean Taylor to death during a break-in of the athlete’s Florida home is guilty of murder.
FOX News Radio’s Eben Brown reports from Miami:
The jury in the case of Eric Rivera took sixteen hours over four days to come up with a verdict, after a trial in which prosecutors say Rivera shot and killed Washington Redskins star Sean Taylor during a botched home burglary in Miami six years ago:
Verdict: “We the jury in Miami-Dade County, Florida, this fourth day of November, two-thousand-thirteen, find the defendant, Eric Rivera Junior, guilty of second-degree murder as a lesser included offense.”
Rivera pleaded not guilty, though a co-conspirator agreed to a guilty plea. Rivera is 23 and possibly faces life in prison.
