CA Town Sues Over Hot Sauce
UPDATE: A judge has denied the town’s attempt to shut down production of the Sriracha chili sauce.
A factory town in southern California is taking the factory to court.
FOX News Radio’s Dave Anthony reports:
What happens in Irwindale, California stinks. Some residents complain the famed Sriracha chili sauce made there makes them cough, their eyes water and throats burn with pepper and garlic strong in the air:
(Davidson) “It’s very bad.”
City Manager John Davidson is suing Huy Fong Foods:
(Davidson) “It is an easy fix. A company that’s making over $100 million a year… investing let’s say a half million dollars into a filtration system.”
The hot sauce maker already has filtration and doesn’t believe it needs that new system saying it was looking into alternatives when the city sued. The case goes to court Thursday.
