Superstorm Sandy: One Year Later [VIDEO]
One year ago, Superstorm Sandy came ashore on the East Coast. It brought with it ripping winds, pouring rain and a storm surge and that flooded entire communities, caused major fires, killed many, knocked out power for weeks and caused massive destruction, devastation and even gas shortages.
FOX News Radio’s Tonya J. Powers reports from Seaside Heights, New Jersey:
Cranes and earth movers work here in Seaside Heights. Construction fences are up and orange barrels mark off the area where the damaged buildings still stand… some still have plywood where windows once were.
The one-two punch of Sandy a year ago, and then the massive boardwalk fire in September have made recovery a challenge here. Helping with that recovery, though is the announcement of more grant money to help with ocean debris removal.
