SpongeBob Headstone Dispute
An Ohio cemetery is trying to help the family of a U.S. veteran come up with an alternative, after ordering her unusual headstone removed.
FOX News Radio’s Lisa Brady reports:
Her family says Kimberly Walker loved SpongeBob.
So much so, that when the Iraq War veteran died, they had her headstone custom made: A seven-foot-tall likeness of the cartoon character, in an Army uniform along with a nearly identical one nearby, for her twin sister who’s in the Navy. But a day after the headstones were installed, Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio said they had to be removed. That an employee had made an error in judgement. They plan to meet with the family and have offered to cover the cost of the $26,000 SpongeBob headstones and new ones. Walker, an Army Corporal, was found dead in a Colorado hotel room on Valentine’s Day. Her boyfriend, an Army Sergeant, is charged.
