Housecall for Health: Army Explores Ways To Predict Suicide

The Army looks into the ability to predict the likelihood of suicide.
FOX’s Colleen Cappon reports in this edition of “Housecall for Health”:
The U.S. military is exploring ways of predicting suicides to prevent them. “USA Today” reports a controversial new Army plan would predict which soldiers might take their own life, potentially allowing early mental health counseling to treat troubled troops.
The system works based on a complex set of risk factors, like psychiatric illness and deployment history, applied to a complex computer assessment that produces a rating, giving officials red flags for those who need special care.
