Holiday Spending Outlook
The holiday spending outlook is looking good, although the government shutdown could change things.
FOX News Radio’s Jeff Monosso reports:
The National Federation of Retailers predicts that holiday shoppers will spend just over $6 billion this year — both on in-store and online purchases. An increase of almost 4% from last year. But that calculation was before the government shutdown.
(Dodge) “It really does remain to be seen. We don’t know when this will be resolved.”
Though RetailMeNot.com‘s Tray Dodge advises consumers.
(Dodge) “Just proceed with caution and don’t go overboard if you can avoid it.”
She expects that retailers will respond to the shutdown with added incentives including early lay-away programs.
