Texas Republican Ted Cruz held the Senate floor for 21 hours and 19 minutes, speaking against Obamacare.
FOX News Radio's Rich Johnson reports from Capitol Hill:
Now that Texas Senator Ted Cruz is finished holding the Senate floor for more than 21 hours, his Republican colleagues like Mitch McConnell continue to make his point:
(McConnell) "Obamacare is wrong for America and needs to be repealed."
But Democratic leader Harry Reid says defunding Obamacare through the bill to fund the government past Monday is a huge waste of time.
(Reid) "Every hour that he has spoken or speaks, pushes us another hour closer to a Republican government shutdown."
Reid says he still hopes to get an amended Continuing Resolution to the House as soon as possible. But it could be Sunday before that happens.
