Studies on energy drinks may be clouded by industry ties. Data from Australia published in the journal BMJ says the involvement of energy drink companies in research into their products has prevented clear answers about the dangers the drinks pose. Energy drink companies say the studies are scientifically valid, but health experts say the public needs to be critical consumers of the research and the products need more independent evaluations.
