Study: More Siblings May Lower Divorce Risk
A new study links a lower divorce rate with the number of siblings you have.
FOX News Radio’s Jane Metzler reports:
You may have fought with your siblings…
(“Home Alone”) “Eleven including me… five boys, six girls…”
And wanted to be left “Home Alone”, but a new nationwide study which involved 57,000 adults over a 30 year period found growing up with more than one or two siblings may provide some protection against divorce. And the more brothers and sisters you have, the more likely you are to stick it out with your spouse. The Ohio State University study used data from the general social survey and found each additional sibling, up to seven, reduced the likelihood of divorce by 2%. Researchers suspect growing up with siblings helps develop communication skills.
