Housecall for Health: Working Towards A Blindness Cure
Researchers in Britain are working towards a way to cure blindness.
FOX’s Colleen Cappon reports in this edition of “Housecall for Health”:
Scientists are seeing big results in what could be the next stage in a cure for blindness. Manipulated stem cells were injected into the retinas of blind mice, restoring sight. A major challenge is to keep those stem cells from turning cancerous. But researchers say, the embryonic cells could potentially provide an unlimited supply for retinal transplants to treat blindness in humans.
