Student Loan Increase Imminent [VIDEO]

College costs appear to be going up, at least for students counting on Federal loans.

FOX News Radio’s Jared Halpern explains from Washington:

No deal. Just days before a July first deadline to prevent student loan rates from doubling. Subsidized Stafford loan interest rates jump from 3.4% to 6.8% next week. Republicans want to link the loan rates to financial markets; a variation of a proposal pitched by President Obama. Bipartisan talks however, appear to have fallen apart. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid declaring the latest proposal unacceptable. The Republican-led House has passed a student loan fix. That was met with a veto threat from the White House.
