Gov. Perry Renews Texas Abortion Bill Battle
An abortion fight that paused in the Texas legislature will quickly resume.
FOX News Radio’s Lisa Brady explains:
After a special session, that ended with a filibuster, and a protest,
(Texas Legislature) “If we can get order in the chamber we will suspend the roll call vote.”
The abortion measures blocked late Tuesday in the State Senate, will be back before lawmakers next Monday.
Republican Governor Rick Perry calling a second special session, saying Texans value life.
Opponents say the GOP-led proposals, including a ban on abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, would end up closing most abortion clinics in Texas.
