Sesame Street Offers Incarceration Tips In New Campaign
Sesame Street is getting some criticism over a new campaign designed to help kids who may have a parent in jail.
FOX News Radio Entertainment Correspondent, Sabrina Sabbagh has the story:
Kids have been turning to Sesame Street to learn how to spell and share for decades. But now the iconic children’s show is getting into some heavier material.
Sesame Street: “Little Children, Big Challenges: Incarceration.”
The new program on Sesamestreet.org is geared toward helping children ages three to eight cope when a parent is incarcerated.
Sesame Street Incarceration clip: “My dad’s in jail. In jail? Why? I don’t like to talk about it. Most people don’t understand.”
Critics are concerned the campaign is trying to make it seem normal to have a parent in prison or in jail.
