BRIAN’S THOUGHTS

Brian has the latest updates on whistleblower Edward Snowden: “When it comes to the situation with the NSA, the scope of what they’re doing – using technology in an effort to keep us safe – …We’re all surprised and taken aback.  One thing was pretty consistent: This guy Edward Snowden, I never felt like he was a hero. I never felt that he was a whistleblower. I felt that this was a guy with a… vision and he wasn’t happy with what’s going on in his life or with job…”

HOUR ONE

COL. CEDRIC LEIGHTON, retired USAF Colonel, weighed in on whether the NSA has gotten too big as a result of the new technology since 2005, and explained to Brian what the NSA has been trying to accomplish.  “So basically what NSA has done… is expand its mission into the cyber realm in a way that was in response, first of all, to the 9/11 attacks, but also was designed to counter the threats that are out there electronically as well as specifically on the Internet,” Leighton explained.

Brian’s co-host on FOX & Friends, STEVE DOOCY, weighed in on the apparent changes that terrorists have made in the way they operate. “Here’s the thing. Over the last couple of years, the ways that the terrorists operate has changed.  I mean, they’re not talking on the phone that much. They’re not talking on the Internet,” Doocy explained.  He went on to cite Dzhokar Tsarnaev as an example.

HOUR TWO

FOX News Sunday host CHRIS WALLACE talked to Brian about the NSA scandal.  After Wallace argued with the Kilmeade & Friends production team about whether or not Brian’s view on the NSA has flipped, he exclaimed his shock at the fact that this issue is truly unpredictable.  Wallace also gave Brian a sneak peak at this coming Sunday’s show, and said that former Secretary of Defense and former Vice-President Dick Cheney will be on!

TISH SQUILLARO, co-author of the book HeadTrash: Cleaning Out the Junk that Stands Between You and Success, talked to Brian about her new book.  Squillaro explained that there are seven traits to trash: “It’s fear, insecurity, control, anger, paranoia and guilt.”  She went on to explain that everyone needs to change the voices inside their head. “That’s the clutter.  It’s the things that cause you to stop what you’re doing and create this noise, or headtrash.”
