FOX in the Fast Lane: Quicken Loans 400 (Michigan)

The Sprint Cup takes a trip this week to Michigan International Speedway for the Quicken Loans 400, and NASCAR mourns the loss of a driver.

FOX News Radio’s Marghiee “Trackside” Teshineh previews the race:

Greg Biffle would like to make it four career victories at Michigan this weekend, but admits the competition is tough:

(Biffle) “I wish our cars were as good as those guys’ cars right now, but we keep working on them every week and make them better. We are not going to give up.”

Jimmie Johnson says his team needs to be winning more or place in the top ten every week to maintain the points lead.

(Johnson) “We are protecting a big lead but we are running 10th to 15th each week. If I look at the last two weeks as an example, we didn’t, we didn’t finish where we should.”

After winning at Michigan on Father’s Day for his dad Ryan Newman says…

(Newman) “I still try to win each and every race for my dad especially Father’s Day weekend, but obviously for my two girls as well.”

Jason Leffler

And NASCAR mourns the loss of 37-year-old Jason Leffler who died this week while taking part in a dirt car race at Bridgeport Speedway. Leffler, nicknamed “LefTurn” last drove a full-time NASCAR schedule in 2011, in the Nationwide series driving for Turner Motorsports.
