Young Adult Unemployment

    Unemployment

Young adults are finding it tough to bring in a paycheck these days.

FOX News Radio’s Jennifer Keiper reports:

Evan Feinberg with the advocacy and research group Generation Opportunity tells FOX News Radio for young job-seekers…

(Feinberg) “We know that the marketplace is extremely competitive because there aren’t new jobs.”

The kind of jobs that Feinberg says there’s a thirst for in a booming economy.

But Keith Hall with the Mercatus Center says it may take awhile, but there will be a turnaround.

(Hall) “Baby boomers are going to retire and at some point you’ve got a major chunk of the workforce retiring and that should open up a lot of jobs for youth.”

The government says April’s 7.5% unemployment rate jumped to 7.6% in May as more people started looking for work. Only about three-quarters of them found jobs.
