Housecall for Health: Kids Taking Adult Meds

Pills

New research showing that children are getting their hands on their parents’ medications, and it’s not without consequences.

FOX News Radio’s Joy Piazza reports in this edition of “Housecall for Health”:

A growing problem: children getting sick after taking adult prescription medicine, often right out of their parents medicine cabinet. A study in the journal “Pediatrics” finds 93,000 young people have gone to the emergency room over the past decade. The reason could be that more parents have prescription drugs in their homes to treat problems like heart disease and diabetes. The study says more needs to be done to keep adult medicine out of the hands of kids.
