Housecall for Health: Dog Bacteria

    Dog

Dogs bring bacteria into a household… but that may not be so bad.

FOX’s Colleen Cappon reports in this edition of “Housecall for Health”:

Man’s best friend brings plenty of bacteria into the home, but new research says that could be a good thing.

A study from North Carolina State University finds homes with dogs have greater bacterial diversity. And dog fur carries certain types of microbes indoors that affect many areas of human health, including strengthening the immune system.

The study is published in the journal PLOS ONE.
