Rating The Best and Worst Airlines

‘Consumer Reports’ rates the airlines. Which is the best? Which is the worst?

FOX News Radio’s Bill Vitka reports:

The leader by far in air travel is Virgin America. And Spirit Airlines is by far, the loser.

The yearly rating by Consumer Reports crowns Virgin with the best scores, but Southwest and JetBlue are ranked highly.

As service gets worse, that territory is owned by American, United, and US Airways. But there’s a special place for Spirit Airlines, which is at the very bottom. The carrier has some of the lowest airfares in the industry, but it charges fees for everything from booking a flight to carrying on a bag. The litany of complaints includes seats, which are some of the tightest spaces anywhere in the air.
