Is it a red line crossed? The White House administration confirms it has evidence of chemical weapons use in Syria.
FOX News Radio's Mike Majchrowitz reports from the White House:
On a trip through the Middle East, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel announced U.S. intelligence officials with some degree of confidence have determined chemical weapons were used in Syria, apparently the nerve toxin sarin. But questions remain.
(Hagel) "We cannot confirm the origin of these weapons, but we do believe that any use of chemical weapons in Syria would very likely have been originated with the Assad regime."
Last August, President Obama issued a warning to Syria on chemical weapons use.
(President Obama) "That's a red line for us and that there would be enormous consequences."
The Syrian regime has claimed that it was rebels that released the chemical weapons last month.
