Pastor Terry Jones is planning a mass Koran burning to mark the 12th anniversary of September 11th this year. According to his press release, they will burn 2,998 Korans.

All this from a self proclaimed Pastor – a supposedly self-declared man of God.

The irony in this situation is that if you remove religion from this scenario, you would not be able to tell who the real fanatics are – them or him?

If we start behaving like them, exactly where will it get us? They want us to become like them, and guys like Terry fall victim to the trap. Terry just doesn’t get it, does he? By burning the Koran you’re only lowering your standards to these fanatics, and we as Americans are far greater than these acts of religious vandalism.

A better strategy would be to burn their emotions, not their religion. Let them see us stand prouder and taller than before.

If you’re going to retaliate then take some advice from Sun Tzu, the famous warrior who said, “The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting” and “He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight”.
