Beef Recalled in 13 States
A Louisiana-based meat packing company is expanding a recall because of possible bacterial contamination.
FOX News Radio’s Don Mathisen has details:
The Manda Packing Company recalling 468,000 pounds of roast beef, ham, turkey, pork, headcheese, corned beef and pastrami. The meat is possibly contaminated with listeria, a bacteria that’s one of the most virulent food-borne agents that causes disease. There are 500 deaths a year in the U.S. attributed to listeria.
The products were shipped to 13 states. A Manda spokesman says the company is working with the USDA to enhance their food safety systems.
