People shopping at a Home Depot in California witnessed a man take handsaws and try to cut off his own arms.
FOX News Radio's Jessica Rosenthal has details:
Witnesses called 911 after a man at Home Depot in West Covina calmly took several handsaws and began to try to cut off both of his arms.
(Lopez) "They were down to the bone. He cut several places along each arm. Which surprised me because you know, at one point you're going to do something to your arm which makes it where you can't use your arm. I think the saws were described as a coping saw, that's the kind used to cut into dry wall and stuff, they have those jagged teeth."
West Covina Police Corporal Rudy Lopez says an off duty paramedic used twine and rags to create tourniquets to stop the bleeding. The man was rushed to a hospital where he's in critical condition. Lopez says at this point it doesn't appear a crime was committed, but they're still investigating.
