Cuba Turns Over Parents Accused of Kidnapping
The parents who kidnapped their own noncustodial kids from the Tampa area and traveled to Cuba have been returned to the U.S. and are now facing charges in Florida.
FOX News Radio’s Eben Brown reports from Miami:
Joshua and Sharyn Hakken are now in the custody of police in the Tampa area, the same place where they kidnapped their own children from their maternal grandparents, who had legal custody, and took them by boat to Cuba. New charges are now filed:
(Gee) “Kidnapping, interference with child custody, child neglect. False imprisonment, burglary including battery and grand theft auto.”
Says David Gee, the Hillsborough County, Florida, Sheriff. The pair lost custody of their kids after getting arrested last year on drugs and weapons charges.
