Large drug seizures are not unusual in Texas, but the amount that a couple of troopers stumbled across in the southeast portion of the state surprised even them.
FOX News Radio's Chris Hoenig has the story:
Texas Department of Public Safety troopers pulled over a tanker truck near Corpus Christi for a routine inspection.
(Vinger) "During the inspection of the tanker truck, the trooper discovered nearly four tons of marijuana concealed within the tanker. It was wrapped in bundles."
...DPS spokesman Tom Vinger. The 7,800 pounds of pot has a street value of nearly $3.5 million, and is the largest seizure troopers say they've had in recent memory.
The driver has been charged with possession.
