Obama Proposes Brain Initiative

    Barack Obama

President Obama begins rolling out items from his 2014 budget starting with an initiative to map the human brain.

FOX News Radio’s Mike Majchrowitz reports from the White House:

(Obama) “There is this enormous mystery waiting to be unlocked.”

To unlock that mystery the President proposes spending $100 million dollars next year to start mapping the human brain. He says that will help science:

(Obama) “Get a dynamic picture of the brain in action and better understand how we think and how we learn and how we remember.”

The brain initiative is the first line from the President’s budget to be released. The initiative already drawing positive thoughts from some Republicans. But the entire budget is not coming out until next week, more than two months late and well after both the House and Senate completed their budgets.
