The Internal Revenue Service is apologizing for a training video made for its employees.
FOX News Radio's Rich Johnson reports from Washington:
(IRS Video) "These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise why..."
It was a parody of "Star Trek".
(IRS Video) "To boldly go where no government employee has gone before..."
...intended to be a training video for IRS employees.
That production, and a parody of "Gilligan's Island", cost about $60,000. IRS officials say training videos save millions over the cost of in-person training. But the agency now admits the "Star Trek" video was not a good use of its money. On the other hand, it says the "Gilligan's Island" video does have legit training value.
