Nuke Home Seeks New Image
The birthplace of nuclear weapons wants to nuke its image and public reputation.
FOX News Radio’s Hank Weinbloom has the story:
Los Alamos, New Mexico. What do you think of?
(Sound of A-bomb testing)
Yep, the atomic bomb.
(A-bomb testing) “Yield: 15 kilotons.”
It’s where the A-bomb was developed – the Manhattan Project – helping end World War II, and ushering in the Nuclear Age. Today, it’s home to the Los Alamos National Lab – that’s quite a claim to fame.
But Los Alamos doesn’t like its nickname, “Atomic City.” The city’s hired a PR firm to blow up its old image and create something friendlier. A rebranding that focuses on, say, all the pretty forests in the area or how rich and educated its people are.
